What surviving a bear market actually teaches you

Volatility is not the risk. Losing your conviction at the wrong moment is.

I entered digital assets in 2016, early enough to see both the euphoria and the silence that follows it. Everyone remembers the upside. Very few talk honestly about the eighteen-month stretches where nothing works.

Those periods are where the real education happens. You learn position sizing the hard way. You learn which partners answer the phone when the numbers are red. You learn that a strong thesis you cannot hold through drawdown was never a thesis — it was a hope.

My rule today is simple: never take a position that would force me to make a decision out of fear.
